Is that your ego or reality talking? Why can't NetJets be run on a lean and efficient budget?
The Waldorf Astoria has great Bellmen. Best in the industry. Do you think they make 6 figures?
A Bentley is a great car. Best in the industry. Do you think the guy putting the tires on in the plant makes 6 figures?
NetJets is a great fractional. Best in the industry. Do you think the guy in the right seat should be making 5 figures in crew meals? (when he could be eating subway like the rest of us on 2 hour plus turns)
...oh yeah, the CBA. My bad.

I don't work at netjets, I am an on demand CL601 guy. But I agree with you it is a bad state of things if glasspilot is one of your own. Every netjets crew I have run into seems to be professional, courtious top notch pilots, this Glasspilot probably isn't even a pilot. I could list great reasons why corporate pilots deserve the pay we get in comparison to bellman and tire installers but it isn't worth the effort to dignify his post.

Settle down out there! I'm all for high wages for pilots. I think the skills required to be a professional pilot at an airline or a fractional is deserving of more compensation than bellmen and car assembly plant workers.
The point I was making was in reference to a poster saying a company needs to throw money away to satisfy our customers. I disagree. I think a fractional can be lean and efficient AND be profitable. Of course the customer / owner can't suffer in the process, but it has been argued by others (and I agree) that there has been gross waste at NJA.
That's all I was saying. I wasn't even saying that AltCSIP (who I quoted) was wrong. I was simply pointing out that just because you're the best in any industry doesn't mean you can throw money into the wind and not expect return. On another board someone mentioned that as a NJA crew you are entitled to 4 crew meals even if you only are on duty for 10 minutes. That's my only point. No company is too big to ignore waste.
And don't come back with "well feed crews are safer". I know. We're talking about 4 crew meal entitlement for 10 minutes of duty. Maybe that was incorrect, but that's what I read and it's crazy if true...

Dang! I wish we got catered that well at my employer!;-)
This is what we get, (per the CBA):
b. International Duty Periods
i. All duty periods shall receive at least a mini-snack. Duty
periods between 5:30 and 7:29 hours shall receive a
snack.
ii. Duty periods between 7:30 and 9:00 hours shall receive
1 meal service.
iii. Duty periods in excess of 9:00 hours shall receive 2
meals. One meal shall be hot if the scheduled aircraft
is equipped with an oven. Menu selection shall be
provided when available.
iv. An International fl ight shall not be delayed for catering
if it is scheduled for snack or mini-snack service only, or
if it is scheduled to domestic parameters, as provided in
Section 12.D.1.b. and D.1.c.i.
v. Jumpseaters will be provided one meal on fl ights where
the crew is provided meal service.
... we also get "scooby" snacks if you depart (domestic/int'l) between 2300 and 0830... yum, yum;-)
Seriously though, I thought NJ had deep, deep pockets, cause I have a good buddy of mine (NJ pilot) that has bragged for yrs that he "is getting paid to stay home!"...??? And this is for like weeks to months at a time! Made me wonder if I was working for the right co.! JK...

Yes, NJA is entitled to 4 meals a day. Very few pilots order 4, most order 3, some order less. You must be at the FBO to get food, no home or hotel standby. Length of time is not a factor.
Most places we go to do not have a subway, McD's, ManchuWok, flight kitchen. During our turns we unload bags, clean the plane, restock, get catering for the owners, check weather, load bags, brief pax, then do pilot stuff up front. We are not the airlines and yes, we have a contract negotiated between both the pilots' union and management.
We also have (had?-to be determined) poor management (pilots sitting at home and getting paid) and poor leadership and too many departments with no accountability. That and an economic-collapse-for-the-History-books is why we are furloughing pilots and laying off non-contract employees.

Throwing money away?
Glass, I NEVER said anything about THROWING money away. I am one of the most frugal people you will ever meet. I have also been involved in business (non-aviation) for over 20 years, having owned and operated a few. That being said, it does take a certain amount of money to provide service at the level NetJets does. You can't provide Champagne service on a beer budget!
