I'm starting to really enjoy the XL/ XLS , second segment climb issues aside, it really is a nice little jet.

The XLS is a nice bird, but dammit if that wing isn't super strait lol.

Well, kinda. It's been 10 years since we've upgraded anybody, and no upgrades are in sight any time soon.

That is a very hard pill to swallow. I'm trying to see the positive side of things but what is the draw to come to NetJets anymore then? If the max someone can make is 100k after ten years of service in the right seat? I am not trying to be inflammatory, but it seems to be a wiser decision to go to a local 91/135 jet gig paying 80k immediately. Or possibly another home based 135 operator like Wheels Up that pays 1st year CA's 95k (that's including per-diem). Upgrade time there is less than a year.

Again, I am not trying to troll NJA but I am having trouble seeing the light.

Junglejett 06-22-2015 08:26 PM

Look beyond pure wages. What will your local 91/135 operator offer in benefits, schedule, security, ect? As for WU, check out the same thing.

NJA is working on a better contract..so we will see what the future holds. As for long term, you will not make what the airlines make. It really comes to down to all the other stuff. For me, this is the flying I would rather do.

I am not so sure about that. Dry runway no problem. Contaminated (standing water, slush, ice, snow etc) different story. Worst case is braking action worse than expected or reported.

Preliminary Report: Phenom 300 Rolls Off Texas Runway

Embraer Phenom 300, Conroe, Texas, Sept. 19, 2014–The NetJets-operated aircraft was substantially damaged in soft terrain and mud at 8:47 a.m. after overrunning the runway while landing at Lonestar Executive Airport. Neither of the ATP-rated pilots, the only people on board, was injured. IMC prevailed for the Part 91 re-positioning flight, which was operated on an IFR flight plan when it departed Nashville International Airport at 7:10 a.m.

A tower controller who witnessed the accident said the pilots flew the Rnav Runway 1 approach and broke out of the clouds at the minimums with moderate to heavy rain falling at the time. The airplane touched down just past the 1,000-foot marker but did not appear to decelerate, eventually traveling off the departure end of the runway before coming to rest halfway down a ditch.

I am not usually one to ever encourage anyone to come to NJ but there are way worse jobs out there. Part 91 gigs come and go like farts. Several have left wheels up to come to NJ. WU is 6on3off and they don't have the contract and benefits that NJ has. Most FOs at NJ are looking to go to the majors but the hiring floodgates really haven't opened up yet and a lot of FOs at NJ lack turbine PIC. It may get ugly but NJ will get a better contract in the near future so that even a FO can make decent money.

727c47 is the most positive person I have ever met and I am probably the other extreme. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle

Most FO's are wanting to leave? Based on what data?

It depends on what you're looking for in life. If you want to be a captain right away at a company where you'll probably never break 100K, then that is certainly an avenue to pursue. You may have to live where they want you to live, have a couple days off per month (or enjoy Wheel Up's horrid 6/3 schedule), not be subject to prospective rest, or get your vacation scheduled whenever the plane is in for maintenance, but if those tradeoffs are worth it, then that path is certainly an option.

You haven't seen the new metric on the wall?? We have stats for everything :D. Seriously I have talked to very few FOs who don't have apps in at the majors. Do I have data? Hell no. Message boards wouldn't exist if data was required. Just one guy's opinion as usual.

Don't worry, we don't take it as trolling. We know it sucks, and that is why many have apps out as we speak. It is a VERY hard pill to swallow, and if the TA is not muy bueno, many will leave.

Based on the data that everyone is *****ing for the sake of *****ing lol. Everyone is on the "first ticket outta here" gameplan, yet my seniority number isn't changing. Go figure...
