Default Silver Airways Flight Benefits

I couldn't find any information on this, but what are the flight benefits for Silver Airways employees/pilots? I saw on their website they cite "multiple airlines', but in real life what does that mean?

Free flights on Silver for you, your spouse/significant other, parents, children (I believe under age 22 but I could be wrong on the age), and one friend (or two friends if not taking advantage of the spouse/significant other option). After 6 months with the company you and the people previously mentioned can book Zed fare tickets (basically extremely reduced tickets) on almost any airline. You also get 12 buddy passes for anyone (friends/family etc) on Silver each calendar year. All of these privileges are space available tickets, basically you book them, show up to the gate, and if there's room, they fly, if there's not you try again on another flight.

Default Adding Dependent Silver Airways

Hello ! My brother works for Silver Airways and is looking to add me as his companion. Our parents are already a part of his dependents. Would he add me through myidtravel or is it something he has to work through with Silver Airway directly? Any help would be appreciated he is going on a year there and has never had any one. TIA.

When your brother is initially hired he has a short time period during which he can sign up his parents/spouse/dependents and friend(s) to his flight priveleges. After that short time period elapses (don't know how long it is, maybe a month), he can ONLY make changes once per year, normally at the very beginning of the year. He can't make changes throughout the year, but only during that annual enrolement/update period. He will get an email from the pass travel department letting him know the steps (it's basically a web-form that's filled out on the company intranet under the passtravel section of the site).

Default Update

Thank you ! It’s that time of year what my brother is not sure of is if I will be able to travel without him on other airlines. Do you have any idea if silver dependents can travel without crew on B6 specifically ? Thanks for you help !

Yes, most airlines allow you to fly without being accompanied by the employee, I believe B6 (JetBlue) is one of the few that requires the employee to fly with you (because you're listed as a friend and not a family member, ie spouse, dependent, parent). Remember, you won't be flying for free, you'll be flying at a very reduced rate (as long as their are seats available) and you'll find your self near the bottom of the standby list.

Ask your brother to email [email protected] and to request a copy of the interline agreement. That document will give you and him a list of all of the airlines that we have agreements with and what the specifics are.

Sign-up to add/change who is on his flight privelege list is from Feb 1 to Feb 28 this year, assuming we're still in business of course.

Hey fly.pilot ! Thanks for your reply ! I have been flying nonrev with B6 for over 10 years which was free but we parted ways last year so my brother offered to put me on his benefits. Is he only able to put me as a friend? I am assuming unlike B6 Silver doesnt have a travel companion? I appreciate your help and I pray silver has better years to come ! He did say he has to wait until 2/1 ! I'll give him the heads up about the passbeauru email !

Ask your brother, not a public BBS where people who don't need to know how it works can see. Just basic common sense.

It's up to him to ask his employer or union, not you.

I don’t owe you an explanation as long as he gave me the green light to ask it’s none of your business. You could have just went past this post that is months old but you’re so self absorbed and felt entitled to comment. This has nothing to do with you so move on with your privilege this post wasn’t for you.
