I heard that it was the shortage of FOs rather than a surplus of captains that was driving this. Cheaper to downgrade someone (but keep making them take 6mo captain's PC and line checks) than to hire some new people. If you suddenly need new captains then you don't even need to sim these 4 guys through class again, if they're kept current.

Hey just wondering if there's any news at Commutair as far as hiring and new aircraft go? Thanks.

Do Not Come Here!

I don't care if no one else is hiring. No matter what, don't come here. This is the worst airline in America. You have been warned. Seriously. Don't even think about commutair as a possibility. Luckily for any potential applicants we are not hiring, nor does it appear we will any time in the future. Unless you want 9 days off a bid with absolutely no control over your schedule, with 15 hour scheduled days, 4 day trips with each day 13 hours or more you do not want to come here. STAY AWAY!!!!! Mesa would be better.

So you put a guy down to FO when hes earned Capt. if you need FO's. I could only see this as acceptable IF and Only if they keep the Captains payscale, is that what is happening here or are they being forced lower wages also???

In the Employee Handbook 4/1/2005 P. 69 Captain pay is only given for Flying as Captain or reserve as CQF. Flying FO or Vacation/Sick time is FO pay.

I'm guessing this still hasen't changed from last year.
