Tim Martins: Commutair New Hire

So I got this from someone I know who'se friend is in the same new hire class.
Truth to this???

blizzue 09-04-2010 04:52 AM

Surely he's a street captain.

Diver Driver 09-04-2010 05:30 AM

It's true.

EWRflyr 09-04-2010 05:33 AM

From one ALPA carrier to another

Spoilers 09-04-2010 05:43 AM

<--- Gotta ad the DHC8 I guess!

This is what I don't get about airline HR/Pilot recruitment. There are so many good, qualified and honest pilots out there looking for work and they hire the biggest tool. I don't get it!

How is this possible. I just don't get it. Why even show your face in aviation again?

ChipChelios 09-04-2010 07:16 AM

Does anyone have a way to reach him? My neighbors cat is stuck up in a tree and I tried to save it but I got scared and though...this seems like a job for Tim:D

How do we know this is even true, (besides from a friend of a friend)? Can anyone at Commutair verify this directly? Last I heard he'd gone to Nigeria to fly.

His name is on the seniority list.

Wow. Do they know about this guy's, ummm, alleged history?

Bumm 09-04-2010 07:42 AM

I can't imagine why he would want to fly at any US carrier even if they would hire him. He's not going to escape ridicule there anymore than he would at Eagle.

That's why they hired him!

Quite the impressive resume.

winglet 09-04-2010 07:42 AM

If this is true it is not acceptable.

That's a really good question.

Captain Tony 09-04-2010 07:44 AM

The fact that another company hired this guy is ridiculous. Only someone who is completely insane would have made that stuff up. How does he even hold a medical? Maybe someone should drop a dime to OK City...

Captain Tony,

It is inconceivable that the FAA would let this guy anywhere near airplanes at all. Remember when they zealously went after Bob Hoover's medical? The FAA is proving once again what an enormous dysfunctional bureaucracy it really is.

Somebody please tell me it's a different person with the misfortune of having the same name.

Alleged? Wasn't his story telling pretty much proven?

This is a really sad statement on the airline industry's hiring practices as a whole and this carrier inparticular.
Over and over on these forums, it is said how you have to have a clean record, no bad paper, format on the resume had better be outstanding, and on and on; yet someone with this KNOWN history can get hired?

Not only bad on the FAA and the airlines, but worse than all those..ALPA.

I thought ALPA had to "approve" new-hires at ALPA carriers. Guess as long as hes paying dues...

ToiletDuck 09-04-2010 09:17 AM

Tim Martins is giving the airline the second chance.

Airhoss 09-04-2010 09:38 AM

Well the good news is that the pilots, cabin crews, ground crews and management of Commute Air will now have the talent in place to teach and perfect fire fighting, heavy rescue, emergency medicine, air combat maneuvering, Low and high angle bombing, close air support, carrier operations (I know F-16's don't USUALLY fly from carriers but we are talking about Tim here!) and a plethora of other skills that we probably don't even know about yet.

PA31 09-04-2010 09:44 AM

I'm shocked and a little dismayed that he didn't end up on the Skywest seniority list. Perhaps as a street Capt, as this is the only position that would be worthy of a man like Martins.

Alpa would endorse Jeff Dahmer if he paid his dues on time.

8Lpearlchannel 09-04-2010 10:04 AM

Is this really the Tim Martins from the AE ALPA fiasco? What if it is a different guy? Seems like tons of other guys could have that same name as it is not exactly unique. Can someone over at Commutair verify that is indeed the guy?

CommutAir, Tim Martins, FAA.....

ChipChelios 09-04-2010 10:50 AM

He learned to ride a motorcycle when he was 12...................months old.

He was an honored guest at a banquet held by NASA where he gave a lecture about the Positive and Negative neutrons that are frammed up with the ramistam in the lower level of the tropopause which could prove his theory on the practical application of his design of his space age jet engine that runs on air, is exempt from the laws of gravity and physics and weighs 6 ounces.

Flyboyrw 09-04-2010 10:58 AM

TM is going to teach those dash 8's a few things.

NERD 09-04-2010 11:23 AM

Ok, ok, ok. *** is Tim Martins?

He discovered that he blessed all of his fellow pilots with his presence, it was time to move on to another airline.

He is so good, he has multiple seniority numbers.
