What what? They're moving the Shenandoah, VA base to Shenandoah Junction, WV? That seems to be in line with the types of towns they throw the pilots into! According to Wikipedia the population is a whopping 703.

I spoke with E.K about my resignation, and there will be a staffing bid out shortly. Asked if there would be any upgrades (since I'm within 50 hrs of having the 1000 121 to upgrade), and that I would stay for an upgrade, but apparently I'm not senior enough to hold even 1900 Captain, ..... anyways, just wanted to pass it along. I hope I'm making the right move by bailing out of here..... too bad my wife is an F/A in training here

How are the flight benefits, talked to one captain and he did not know, Upgrade time still 1.5 years? How hard is it to get Clarksburg as a base? I live in WV. How is training? Yes i know their is a lot of studying involved, I know 121 training programs pretty well but some companies are worse than others. Some are impossible and some help you to learn. Please give me a extensive recall of training. What is it like to work for silver? Yes all regionals could be better i know, however other than staffing problems i have not heard anything mortally bad about Silver. Looks like a nice place to stay at while building time and the 2 pilots that i have had a chance to jumpseat with were over all happy. I appreciate any and all info, interview tips, ect. Thanks to all and happy flying.
Let me try and answer your questions...

1-In the interview just be yourself man. I've seen some freaking knuckleheads I mean characters in this place so if you have half a brain and are normal you should be ok.

2- United flight bennies, all flights are full and you're in the very last place in the SA list. Welcome to Silver

3-Upgrade time, oh boy...Just believe everything they tell you in the interview so you can wind up being as ****ed off as every other FO here.

4-IDK how easy or hard it is to get WV, it's a Saab base and I believe they are hiring into the Beech but idk.

5-I didn't find training all that super hard as some people describe it, just study and you'll be fine. A good attitude goes a long way in this industry, if you're rotten people aren't going to be willing to help out. Be prepared to be all over the place, idk about the Saab training but the mighty beech training program seems to lack a syllabus, so be ready to do SITS in the middle of ground, put out a fire in the middle of SITS and correct a bunch of power point slides that have never been corrected but will be corrected next time, get my drift? The whole OMG, you need to know your IFR stuff down makes me laugh, please tell me one airline in which you do not need to know how to know IFR?? I took a 4 year break from flying and passed with no issues. But I'm a super genius

6-I truly believe that Silver is only second worse to Great Lakes.

Good luck on your interview, remember be yourself and kick ass.

I just came from spending time with the wife, and the rest of the new hire F/A class, and ran into the pilot new hire class, and as dmncn guessed, all F/Os are in the Beech.

If you want WV, Parkersburg is a 1900 base as well for the CLE system.

"As a result of this latest award, and in recognition of the fact that it was your efforts that made it possible, I am pleased to announce that we are declaring Friday, November 29, 2013, as a Company holiday so that those of you who made these results possible, and who are not tasked with operational responsibilities that day, can enjoy a four (4) day holiday weekend. For those of you who are scheduled to work, you will receive an additional day of vacation that can be used whenever your schedule permits (in coordination with your supervisor)."

So if you happen to have off that day, you don't get squat? Am I reading this correctly?
