LOL.......
Still loling.......
little bit more.
Ok, I'm done. Are you out of your mind? We are talking about doing 120 hours/month in a 1900 right? Hand flying the whole time? For what? 17 bucks an hour?
I honestly can't believe people still want to be a part of that dumpster fire.

Say all of the folks w/ ATP mins.
These guys are looking at building time and experience. Sounds like an efficient way to do it when you've barely got over 500 hours.
Flight Instructing would require another 2 years or so before they'd have the 1,500 hours. And it certainly wouldn't make them anymore prepared for a 121 Training event or flying a Regional aircraft.
But continue w/ your bashing of the FNG's in the industry.

Anyway, for the rest of what you said.....Why in the world would it take a CFI 2 YEARS to build 1000 hours? The OP stated he had 500 hours. GLA has a training contract, why subject yourself to that when the stories about how GLA treats their employees are out there and well known?
I have no issue with someone going to GLA. That being said, they need to know what they are getting themselves into. The "Because I need to work!" quote from the OP speaks volumes.

Cracks me up... Doug V. Wouldn't be able to do what he does if people would do their homework and stop going there. As long as people continue to support that kind of behavior by accepting employment they will continue to drag the industry down.

As much as I, and most of the people on this forum would like, the world isn't organized perfectly, and very few of us have the resources & clout to fix the problems (as each of us see them).
Even when a large number of people may agree about what constitutes a problem (eg: can ALPA really represent both regional pilots and legacy pilots? How broken is the regional model?), the likelihood of consensus about a fix is often more elusive.
Enter Government, which usually creates new, unintended consequences while it may fix a few old problems. Think 1,500 hours in the aftermath of Colgan 3407.
World ain't perfect. Yet.
