135 Career Progression
Closing in on 1200TT, I'm curious about FO opportunities with companies in which a progression from smaller cabin classes to large cabin class, international flying, would be possible. Any thoughts?
Thanks! |
Yeah...Don’t waste your time in GA, go to a regional.

I know that's the consensus.

You could probably get DEC into a 135 company

1200 hours with the other requirements for 135 IFR will open a lot of doors. Kind of a cross over point for a pilot where you are now in demand.

Just go to the regionals. I flew 135 for a couple years got a lot of turbine PIC but still ended up at the regionals getting even more turbine PIC.

Yes...waste of time. The quality of life and career progression is better at a regional.

That being said I would say any LCC+ is better than 135. Regionals can be the suck. And most of their pay is bonus, that could be gone at any time. Then you're back to making 30-40k. Add in a bad commute and some home based 135 look decent. Each individual is different, but I will say the end game of major destroys the top earnings/retirement at every 135. Hands down. |
