I'm not sure AirNet has decided on that one yet. We became Private on the 10th had a big Hangar meeting today with our new Owners. I thought they would divulge a little more on the immediate plans for the business, but they didn't. I'm expecting them in the next few weeks or maybe months to announce some changes. I can only speculate on what, so I won't.

A fam flight is where a prospective pilot is invited to ride along in one of our airplanes to experience what the pilots do here at AirNet. Usually, all it takes is that you show interest for the company and that you ask one of the recruiters when you talk with them.

I called asking about a fam flight, but I think it was Memorial Day that day so they didn't pick up and it went straight to Craig Washka's voicemail. I'm really interested in the SIC program. A few questions:

1) How do you log the SIC time in the piston twins? Sounds like a stupid question but I'm not claiming to be smart either ;)

2) How senior is the PHX domicile for the twins in the SIC program?

3) Is BUR senior for LJ35 drivers?

Sounds like a great well run operation and a chance to do some interesting flying.

Thanks,

Chris

This definitely sounds like a good place for me to build some time. I have a few questions myself if you guys don't mind
1. How senior is the FXE domicile?
2. I am guessing I would probably end up in the Baron with my low time, how long can I expect PIC?
3. What can one(me) expect in the interview?

Thanks in advance.

I don't work there, but I interviewed recently.
1. They told me that base seniroity can change overnight and they will not give you a definite answer about which is and which is not.
2. The Baron is what everyone starts in from what I am told. It also depends on which base you are at and also is you are a reserve captain that they call a floater captain because you bounce around the bases.
3. Expect alot of VCM and critical engine questions. Also, they will ask you about a twin you flew recently and why you want to work there. I interviewed after being at a 121 carrier and they asked me questions about a light twin I haven't flown in years and other stuff I just don't use anymore with the airlines. This is the part that I think hurt me.

Anyway, I am sure some of the guys there can give you more info. I got to fly 4 legs on the lear with a crew and they were super nice and it seems like they have a very good pilot group. I kind of felt that I was not liked by the guy doing my one on one because I was an airline pilot and some of the questions he asked me made me feel that he was trying to down my profession. Seems like a good company, good luck!!!

1. Quick answer you log the TT only since an SIC is not required on a Baron....its in our ops specs
2. wounldn't get to excited about PHX as i believe that base may close.
3. The captain in BUR has been there forever (LJ35). The co-pilot is the one that more fluid just depends on when they want to upgrade and move.

Bases may close and then open again in a month you just never know. If you get hired and have PIC mins, when your checkride is over, then you will be told what bases are open and pick from the list. This is always changing so there is no senior base. There are people with senority in bases that they may never want to leave.

1. Very....I believe the Captain is #1 on the senority list. Co-pilot is up there as well.
2. Everyone starts in the Baron. If less than 1200 hrs... you may request a city or get assigned one if the one you request is not available. This must be a city that has a Baron and not other types. Time wise depends on the run, you would have to figure that up when assigned. Usually 80 hours a month though.
3. read Saabguy493's on the interview part.

Went on a Fam Flight last night and really liked it. I got a tour of Airnet in Columbus and the place is well organized and it sounds like they are really growing. Called into finsh up my phone interview and waiting for the call back, but all in all it looks like a great place to work.

ACEAV8R 06-13-2008 07:00 PM

Well i appreciate the information. Doesn't sound like a bad way of living. I will definitely keep you guys informed on what happens. I still have a few options with other companies.

IlliniPilot99 06-16-2008 12:07 PM

got a FAM flight next week wednesday, out of MDW on the lear. really looking forward to it!

bradeku...how did the rest of the interview go?

bradeku1008 06-17-2008 07:30 PM

Called them back on Friday and they were in a meeting. They said they would get a hold of me this week to finish the phone interview. Im kinda split in between Airnet and getting the mins for Comair.

You cannot compare the two. 121 vs 135, people vs cargo, night vs day. what do you want to do in 5 or 10 years??

saabguy493 06-17-2008 11:33 PM

And if you can't post on this page after 3 am, then you can't fly freight!!! Looks like I am not the only one typing on here this late.

MillerTime 06-17-2008 11:43 PM

I hear ya. only 2 hours until i get to go home.

saabguy493 06-17-2008 11:44 PM

5 to 10 years...Be a captain for a regional. Right now, gain experience.

ColinR 07-24-2008 02:07 PM

What are the chances i get the job with 330 tt 35 multi?

Adobo 07-24-2008 03:11 PM

How about... No! You crazy dutch bastard!

WmuGrad07 07-24-2008 04:54 PM

Ha 330 tt you would be sitting right seat in a twin to build 4 (four) times as much time as you have right now. Why would anyone want to do that anyway? Look for some other way to build your time. I would assume they would want you to be at 1000 tt preferred maybe 800 if you're lucky. They can't even use you as a real pilot for the company till you get to 1200. Keep dreaming.

JD1918F 07-24-2008 05:20 PM

Why not try for an internship? That way you get to know the company while also being able to go on some line flights and build some time. Put your application in for a flight department or recruiting internship. It is a great way to gain on the job experience.

jelloy683 07-24-2008 08:30 PM

335TT isnt too unrealistic, i ran into an SIC at MDW who go hired back in March with 330TT. All you can do is submit your app, dont let anybody tell you what you can't do.

Ewfflyer 07-25-2008 04:27 AM

The guys only 3 posts are the exact same post in 3 different threads. Yippee!!!

IlliniPilot99 07-25-2008 06:49 AM

im at 520 and 70 and only got some interest thrown my way...just gonna cfi and update and see what happens.

when i talked to matt and walter at airnet they said that competitive was around 800/50 TT
