I'm thinking most of this slowdown is due to the cancellation of the DHL runs. I wouldn't be surprised if the dust settles and semi-regular hiring resumes within a couple months, just my speculation.

As far as transitioning into turbine equipment, though, well, that might take a little longer for a while.

It doesn't really matter with your time. Everyone starts in the PA31 and transitions go off of seniority and sometimes merit.

The only thing that the high turbine times will help with is if you stick around for a Metro or 1900, then they would help for the insurance requirements.

8 runs (3 outstationed), 1-2 reserve (or a dual-qual pilot flies a PA-31 line).

Upgrades are very slow, even for those willing to take outstations- you'd have to wait for everyone above you at base to decline. Oddly enough, a while back several were filled from outside PDX- no takers from the base, but that's likely changed now.

How many metros or 1900s @ pdx, what hours would i need to upgrade straight from the p-31s to the metros or 1900s.thanks
