From what I've heard from others, is that the Billings lines are built to 45 hours duty per week, 4 days on 4 days off, all overnights in the outstations so you get the extra (I believe) 35/36$ perdiem for the overnights. Not to mention the cost of living in Billings is probably the cheapest of all the places Cape Air flies to.

That's sweet! Sounds appealing. Only thing I don't like is the contract. I have 900h right now and it seems like it may take forever to honor that commitment

Just doing some quick math;

-6ish weeks to get through training
-about 112 hours a month in Billings - 7 hours a day * 4 days a week times 4 for the month
1500-950(by the time you start)=550
550/112=4.9
You would be looking at just under 5 months on the line or less depending how much overtime you do.

In total 6-7 Months as an FO then go through the upgrade class and fly 1 year as a captain. It a lot of valuable experience, flying a multi, single pilot, icing and not to mention the new Tecnam coming in early 2019.

Are those realistic math? :-) I guess that’s the best case scenario, which looks pretty good honestly.

Your classmate Nick (the Spaniard) tells me training could take more than 6 weeks. More like 8-10weeks?. With all the recurrent guys, etc...

My buddy Christian Tardez is still finishing his, and he started in December 5th I think🤔

Ahhh Nico! He's a great guy!

I would say 6-8 is realistic, there are training blocks available on the weekends for those who want it that will get you ahead of schedule. Especially during the holidays in December/January things were backed up a bit but now they are finishing up and moving along.

Yeah he is :-) We've been friends for years and we were both flying here at Air Flamenco!.

I always liked Cape Air to.be honest. Looks like a small airline running as a big one, by the book.

Never thought I'd understand how important is that "by the book". Gotta love Caribbean aviation :-)

I know some recruiters are coming to San Juan this week. I may talk to them.

They technically are a 135 but they really are a regional airline that flies piston twins.

Have I convinced you yet?! hah!

Almost there man haha. You should get a recruiter part time job with them :-)

Is captain pay decent?

I would love to get involved with the recruiting department actually, hah!

Its all dependent on the overtime but base Captain will be 50-55K and up to 6 figures depending on the overtime and incentive programs.

We were told about a few captains that work their 6 days a week in the beginning of the year then by October/November they hit their 1200 for the year and have the last 2 months of the year off...still getting their 40 hour a week pay.

By incentive programs you mean working on days off?

6 days a week, 7h of flight/day, some 10-12 duty.....that's pretty brutal :-)

My maximum one day was 13.5h duty 6.2 flight and I was a zombie haha.

If those figures are real, then it's tempting. Because initially those $17/h look low even if it's duty time.

All of us during ground school were asking about the incentive programs, yes working on days off, we were told that they only run them for captains because FOs aren't always necessary.

One of the programs they typically run is, during a quarter (12 weeks) every extra day you pick up is an extra $100 ontop of the hourly rate at time and a half for overtime. And during that quarter if you do 10 extra days at the end of the quarter you will get a $2500 bonus.

It adds up quickly
