Recommend a light jet charter near PHX or SAF
Hello fellow aviators from across the pond.
I will be in PHX next April and am looking to charter a light jet to take me and the girlfriend to Santa Fe from the PHX area (Scottsdale etc.)
I had a look at aircharterguide.com and it does list a lot of companies but I was wondering if you guys could help me find a descent operator (safe, reliable, good value for money).
This is supposed to be a very special treat and a one-off. I know it won't be cheap (1 hour flight time plus the ferry back, I suppose). What would be a realistic charter rate for such a trip? I know a piston or turboprop would be enough but a really want a jet, not a VLJ, either. At least a CJ2, BE400, Learjet etc. I noticed that for example the EJM website gives a much higher estimated trip cost than their hourly light jet rate on aircharterguide.com suggest.
Any help much appreciated
Of course I will contact some operators directly but was hoping for some recommendations here first.
Many thanks, happy Christmas and a fantastic 2014!

Hi,
Consider a 1 way charter.........
There are a boatload of operators that list their empty legs with charter brokers like Blue Star Jets. Not difficult to find what's available & there are a lot of them to choose from if you can be a little flexible with your departure date.
Best wishes!

Thanks HD
Unfortunately I am not very flexible with the departure date. I have a trip across the States planned (by commercial airlines and rental cars) and only have a day or two to play with. I have had an eye on the empty legs from Scottsdale and Phoenix but haven't seen any to Santa Fe.
Thanks again, though!

Hi folks
Just a quick update. I ended up chartering with Swift Aircraft Management out of PHX. It was a Phenom 100. Everything went very smoothly. Bonny, the Charter Sales Manager I worked, with was great and she was able to beat JetSuite's pricing. The two pilots were nice guys and appeared very professional.
Thanks to everyone who sent private messages.
