I have types in the King Air 200, 737-800, and the L-188 (p-3). I have about 850 hours in the 737, 800 of those are PIC.
I am interested in the 135 style flying, though the money of a 121 job is not bad. Seems like 2022 or so is going to be a great time to find a job.
I understand the progression from SIC to PIC in the 121 world, seems like more opportunities for a direct entry to the left seat in the 135 world.
I am hearing that I need to keep building hours where I can and something north of 4000 total makes me competitive?

It can happen but there are no magic bullets.

Direct entry to captain in the 135 world usually requires a type rating in that aircraft and at least a couple of hundred hours in type. There are exceptions - but most ads looking for captains expect the type and time.
