Default Maverick Airlines?

You can try part time with Vision. I know for a fact that they had part time pilots before. Allegiant's schedule is not commutable but if you live in base then it's a good gig. Home every night and the pay is not bad. Much better (pay wise) than a regional.

I did a little forum research on Allegiant after reading this post. It seems that some of the pilots are home at night and others are not. Also, it seems like a lot of the pilots are being sent to Florida.

Any more info from you on this one? Again, you've been very helpful.

I know quite a few pilots at ALGT. It is true the junior bases are in FL at the moment, along with VRB (virtual basing). But if you can live in the base its a decent gig.

Have you looked into 135/91 jobs?

Well I did some research on Allegiant and the Grand Canyon companies. I don't think I'd want to move to Florida, so I don't think Allegiant will work out. I haven't got to researching Spirit yet, but I did get in touch with a pilot at a Grand Canyon company

Grand Canyon Airlines seems like a pretty good deal despite the commute from Vegas. He said that the schedules are either 4 and 3 or 5 and 2. He also said that with my experience they might hire me as a Captain or upgrade me a lot faster than a normal pilot.

Does that check with your experiences in the Canyon companies?

Thanks again for the help.

If you have a TS clearance you might want to look into "Janet" airlines. They fly 737's into "Restricted" Air Force destinations. They are based in Las Vegas.

If you want to live in Vegas, the only airlines that have bases here are Southwest, Allegiant, and Spirit.

All of the major airlines (and a couple of the regionals) have bases a short commute away at LAX.

If you are leaving Big Blue with AC time in the -135, then you should be sending your applications out to all the major airlines now (even if you're not 100% sure you want to work for a 121 airline). There is a relatively long lead time with all of them between applying, getting an interview, and getting a training class date.

If you get to the end of your active duty time and you don't have a flying gig lined up that you like, you can get to a west-coast regional airline (SkyWest, Compass, Horizon) in relatively short order between application, interview, and training date.

Vegas also has a good number of corporate gigs with the casinos.

There has been a lot of consolidation. In 2002 URS acquired the original contractor, EG&G, which had been started by MIT guru Harold Edgerton in the 1940s. Last year, AECOM acquired URS.
