SoCal low hour jobs?

Hello to all who read this!

I致e posted a couple times before. I知 still trying to find a low hour pilot job in SoCal. I知 chipping away at my CFI, (passed the writtens, and trying to put together some lesson plans)

I知 just not having any luck finding anything. I知 interested in flying skydivers, but I知 open to other things too, as long as they are relatively close. (I know, low time or commute, pick one)

My wife is pregnant with our first, and she痴 due in August. We are in the military and stationed here, so I知 just not able to go very far as of now.

If you know of anything for a low time guy like me, I would greatly appreciate it. (I知 26 by the way, with a little over 320 hours)

Thanks!

Hi There,
A SoCal guy here myself. There's always the possibility of finding somthing with your low hours. Yet, I'm 9000+ guy and I find it hard to keep work flowing in town myself. You're doing the right thing by getting your CFI and teaching. In fact, I started at 26 years old, 30 short years ago. The main issue companies have hiring low time is that their insurers hold them to a minimum requirement and unfortunately, their word is Gospel. Best of luck in your endeavors. In no time you'll have plenty of hours and there's never in history been more demand for good pilots.

Thanks for the reply and words of wisdom! True, I致e heard that most low hour operations require at least 500 hours due to insurance reasons. I hope to have enough hours soon to land something, I知 just having a little trouble figuring out this CFI thing.

I'm sure you'll figure it out. Being one of the most introverted people on God's green earth, I never thought in a million years I could ever teach another victim responsibly to fly a machine. But 2500hrs teaching pilots in helos of all things, it made me realize I'm capable in just about anything. My point, In a couple of years after teaching, you'll wonder why you worried so much about it. Just another chapter in this crazy adventure. Hit it head on. Not to discourage but the CFI initial has the highest fail rate out of all rides. If you blow it the first time, walk away with a lesson from it and hit it again. Since that time, I've done all 5 CFI rides in fixed and rotary. Just a glutton for punishment. Best..
