Driver Part Time - 31310

Position Description

SUMMARY



Drives van/automobiles/trucks to transport customers, pilots, and visitors of the facility to and from local airport, hotels, and restaurants.



JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist passengers to enter and leave vehicle, holds umbrellas in wet weather, and loads and unloads baggage and luggage as needed.
Maintain vehicle to ensure cleanliness and proper operating conditions.
Make minor vehicle repairs or adjustments as necessary.
Performs miscellaneous errands for the location such as carrying mail to and from the post office, trips to the bank, etc.
Assist with customer service functions as needed.
Assist with base housekeeping as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid state Driver's License.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.

I did. I met a lot of corporate pilots that could have opened doors for me, had I had all my ratings back then. Remember you want to get close to the pilots, not necessarily the big boss who probably couldn't care less about you and doesn't know aviation.

Be competent, and motivated, be the best at that job. Network, get to know names, talk shop. The regulars will soon get to know you and if you have your ratings, door will crack open. Maybe not directly, maybe not wide open, but good things come to the intelligent and motivated.

That would be an excellent way.
Be professional and courteous.
By all means chat but don’t be a motormouth.
After a long flight or that customer from the Pitts of Hell you sometimes want a quiet ride.
Don’t speed and don’t use profanity when you get cut off in traffic.
You’re driving customers.
End or rant.
