Unless one were to become a CFI at 250hrs (which is an entirely different conversation; talk about blind leading the blind), it could be quite beneficial to build time and experience with one’s own airplane while also hunting for that first job.
Lastly, even flying the smallest of airplane day VFR on a sport pilot license is building experience and lessons to be learned when doing so coast-to-coast.

Hi all,
looking for a second pilot to help me ferry a Piper Cherokee from Stafford regional airport (outside of DC) to Southern California.
if you need to time build, this is a great opportunity as I need hours as well to reach ATPL mins.
The plane just completed its annual last week and IFR avionics upgrades (Garmin 430).
you’re expected to contribute with fuel expenses too.
if you’re based in SoCal, even better! We can continue to time built until we hit 1500 hrs.
Looking at the end of the week or early next week flying out of Stafford.
text Chan 909-802-eight four niner four if you’re serious, thanks!

In 2020 you claimed you needed another 350 hrs.
That would have been 60hrs/year for the last 5 years. Thats what the average private pilot flies recreationally.
So is this latest enterprise a ferry because the aircraft got sold? Are you getting paid to fly the airplane to SoCal and trying to make an extra buck on the side? Either that or you’re not in any hurry to get your ATP.
Got some ‘splaining to do as this looks fishy.

There is something fishy going on here as you’ve been posting timebuilding posts (and only those ) since 2019.

lol nothing fishy here. I moved to DMV area in late 2019. Bought the plane there and did some time building. Got sent to the sandbox from summer 2021 until summer 2023. Couldn’t do GA flying so the plane stayed in Stafford Regional. Been a full time dad since then and got tired of changing diapers.
so I’ve decided to upgrade the avionics and bring the plane to where I live in SoCal and continue timebuilding.
anyway, I found a buddy at the reserve center who’s also building time so he’s going to help me ferry it.
thank you all for the words of encouragement and discouragement, really appreciated!
P.S. if you still interested in putting around SoCal, the offer is still open.
