I've got 3400TT and 120ME. Flying a cirrus right now but the pay is better than any airline i could go to and I'm usually home every night. I don't see the point in chasing ME time right now. Eventually our company will get something bigger, so i'm probably going to wait it out.
Not to be a downer, but when I was flying that Saratoga for a private company and they wanted to upgrade to a light twin they kicked me to the curb because I didn't have enough ME time to meet the insurance mins. That was awesome.

I didn't have your TT then (only about 1200 at the time), but had my 100 ME. Was there 4+ years; started by cleaning the hangar and a/c P/T while in college.
That really sucked at the time, but looking back now it was probably the best thing to have happened to me. It forced me to get out and start moving forward in my career.
Anyway, I really hope your case will not be like mine, but you might check to see if you'll be insurable in whatever they get. Just wanted to share my experience.

Thanks for the insight. They have been looking at upgrade options recently and usually have me to check with our insurance company to see if I can fly it single pilot. Seems like I'm ok to fly most twins, but will be uninsurable for PIC if they go straight to a jet. I'm hoping that I don't end up in a situation like yours. That sounds pretty messed up.

Good idea, and if you do that get it using an Apache or similar. That way you will be killing two birds with one rock.

I started my career in AK and when I finally bailed I had 2,400 TT, 38 ME, ATP. To reiterate some of the viewpoint s on this thread, all the SE piston time in the world only gets you more SE piston time, by and large.
If I were you I'd give careful thought to where you ultimately want to be 5-10 years from now and start heading that direction. I ended up with a gig at a UPS feeder in DEN basically because they're the only ones that would hire me, but the upside of that has been that I'm looking at an upgrade to twin turbine equipment in 6-7 months after DOH.
YMMV.
