Need 33hrs Multi.
 

Ok so went to the recent job fair up in Boston talked with everyone there pretty much. 2 Companies could and would take me with only my 67hrs of multi and the two others that I would prefer to go with said get 33 more hour and call me btw they gave me personal emails and numbers not the generic recruiting emails. Any thoughts from anyone out there. oh, 1375TT ATP written done. WWYD?

not sure what more info you want. the 2 airlines that want the 33hrs i would prefer and only 1 of the other 2 i would consider given a job offer. I dont want to miss out on the hiring spree or a decent seniority number idk im dont have much 121 knowledge this is my first step into the regionals. really any thoughts or comments. do i hustle to get the 33hrs or take the first offer i get? ive been a 91 contract pilot for the past 2yrs ive made some calls to see whats out there multi time wise.

What he's saying is we can't give you any decent advice with what you gave us.

What two companies WILL take you without them? Decent places? Then you may as well go for them.

If those options are crap, or one of the ones that wants 100 multi is much better for you (no commute, etc.) then bite the bullet and find the other 33 hours.

go to one of the companies to get 33 hours and leave

And people wonder why some companies institute training contracts.

It is true, but it is the nature of the industry, most places that have training contracts are not reputable carriers and if they made their airlines a better place than maybe they would not need the contracts.

This "nature of the industry" is what drives such.
Small companies, operating on a string of a budget for whatever reason, spends XXX amount of money to train a guy. Said employee leaves after the small company a short stint (33 hours of time in the above example) and loses training investment. Of course the company needs to hire another and risk the same investment return. I'm sure if you were in charge of the financial health you wouldn't mind this cycle? that money lost COULD go to better maintain the airplanes, better benefits, or even a pay raise. Depends on the management team I'm sure and most would probably just line their pcokets, but we'll never find out.

Training contracts apply at other flying opportunities outside of the airlines and many of them are very reputable. My last three jobs now have training contracts and all are reputable.

Well I can say I'd rather not be one of those kinds of people. Id rather not waist someones time. Things are tough as it is they dont need some person whos there for a quick fix and out the door. I want to go somewhere and stay, learn and progress. I think I will get what I can for the next month and if it adds up to what I need great if not ill reasses from there. I have a vaca planned and paid for from 27th Sep to 10th Oct. I don't want to jump into anything till after but if I have to I will.
