Alaska 400h
Hello guys,
A friend of mine emailed me a list of the Alaska operators, and it was insane the amount of companies.
I have 400h at this point, and I'm willing to move anywhere. I worked in construction in the middle of nowhere, we were like 2000 people, so I ain't scared at all of small tiny towns
Do you guys know who would hire with these hours? I have zero preference about cargo/pax, or type of plane. I just wanna fly a decent amount of hours per month and of course get paid haha.
Online application is enough or knocking on their doors is the way to go.

There are a few threads here that clearly spell out which companies hire low time pilots. If you use the search function and spend 30 minutes reading you will get lots of detail. You can also take the list you mentioned and call the companies directly to get the very most current hiring mins and class dates.

February is when everybody starts posting job openings. Watch Craigslist too. Many post there in the transportation area.

Until you get 500 hrs, there aren't a lot of opportunities. Part 135 VFR mins require 500 hrs. to be PIC. There are some operators that use SICs in Caravans, but the pay will barely buy lunch. Get that 500 hrs and you'll get on flying a 207 somewhere. I did 5 yrs flying in AK and loved it.

I came to Alaska right at 500 hours and had zero problems! It's all the experienced guys that kill themselves here. They get cocky and complacent and don't stay inside their limits. The last 5 deaths this year have been guys with thousands of hours up here. If anything come up here at 500 and be smart and stay within your limits and you will be fine and will learn a ton. Good stick and rudder skills and common sense are your friend up here. Not everyone is cut out for flying in Alaska but you'll figure that out day one. So hit 500 hours and come up and give it a shot. Best decision in my opinion! Build hours fast for good money and build a great resume.
