Good for him. Also, use your vacation time to start volunteering and helping in your community. Do as much as you can away from aviation. The majors have 20k plus apps w true aviators w 3-8k tpic and not getting a call. HR does the hiring now. Not pilots. And as bad as all regional schedules are waiting around at Pdt might be perfect time to go to job fairs, and get involved. The 5 street hires in my class at AA all were busy being humanitarians on days off.

That is impressive, but if he has 2500 SIC, then his TT was at least 4000. Probably here for roughly 3 years with good grades and some extra stuff on the resume. I don't think they're taking civilian guys with 2-3000 hours that often.

Are we supposed to hear something on the 23rd?

Those are called unicorns. It happens but it’s rare. 3-4000 hours, involvement, a good looking application, and having your app pulled via internal rec or Delta open house are what it takes to get an interview. Those interviewing with 1000 SIC 121 are military or usually have a story behind how they got the interview.

Maybe impressive, maybe rare, but there’s zero reason it can’t happen to others if they bother to put any real effort into applying.

I agree good things happen when you hustle. However, how much hustle do you have left after 4/2 4/2 4/2 etc. I don’t have much.

Who cares? Some people are willing to hustle harder than others. Good for them.

After? How about during?
Folks find plenty of time and motivation on 4 day trips to update apps, resumes, study the prep course programs etc...

As for attending job fairs/interviews... folks are also smart enough to figure out how to make it to them when they’re important.

Everyone I know who was motivated/hustled to move on from regionals does not regret the effort they put in to moving on.
