Point is, the more people that pick up double, even triple premium, the less incentivized the company is to make any changes. Not saying your decision to pick up is bad, just laying out the dynamic.

so then how is it suppose to work? i’ve tried with scheduling. at the end of the day i’m only taking about a day here or there. they aren’t willing to break trips for me or anything for the most part. Then i talk to new hires and they get what ever they want. split trips, positive space them from home. it doesn’t make any sense.

I think you guys are reading too deeply into the causes for 1x vs 2x vs 3x premium.

For example, captain staffing in CLT has improved over the last couple of months. There are now usually around a dozen CAs on BUP lines. At the same time, there is far less OT flying advertised at high premium levels. This isn't a coincidence. There are just extra bodies to cover open flying from people having reserve blocks and so now the company doesn't have to open the wallet as wide to beg people to fly on days off. When there wasn't a surplus of CAs in CLT, there was plenty of 3x to be had. Now it's basically none existent.

Conversely, we are now getting short on FOs again and wuddiya know....3x is much more prevalent for them.

We all know that this place can't manage itself out of a wet paper bag, yet some of you guys are acting like the company has the ability to dynamically monitor the whims and ambitions of people willing to pick up OT at any given moment? Come on.

i got line checked 2 weeks ago by a good friend of mine, and he informed me he was getting triple to do line checks. let me repeat that, he was getting triple premium to do random line checks which is a requirement by the company......

We get paid whatever is being offered to come in on days off to do line checks. If scheduling is offering triple premium that day then that’s what we get

Didn’t mean to cause any arguments - just different schools of thought I guess. I just think it’s a little far fetched to be using words like scab to describe someone trying to add extra hours to his paycheck - regardless of pay rate. That’s all. Sad state when someone has to pick up on days off to get 80-90 freakin hours a month, but it is what it is with our schedules. That’s why I cannot, in good conscience, hold it against anyone in our group for doing so. Defying an organized action is one thing, but judging a personal decision is another.

For the record, I’ve never flown .1 above an awarded schedule (by my choosing anyway) but if guys want to drop to 6 days off for PRM (don’t even know what that is - 1.5??), more power to them.

On to other things - where are all the 5-days coming from??

Or 6 day trips, 4 day plus 2... or the infamous seven day trips... 4 days plus 3... that's a winner...
