Cadet program status

Discussion that’s been going on over at Envoy thread about the status of cadets. Even though Envoy plans to put current pilots on the street, the cadet program is still being funded. Anyone know what’s happening with the Piedmont cadet program?

No offense dude.. last thing we are thinking about as line pilots right now is the cadet program.. we're more concerned if there will be a Piedmont or even a mainline in a year from now...

Actually, it's a great question. Cadet program shouldn't be funded and cadets shouldn't be getting health and travel benefits while displacement bids are running monthly. If we're trying to reach this TSV value and the cadet program is still contributing to potential new hire benefits not on the seniority list, that's a problem.

I believe it was still being funded in August. I agree. They should not be getting a $ when us on property are trying our best to save money

Cadet’s don’t get health benefits

Cadet CFIs only get incentive pay when they reach milestone in their hours.

With the agreement signed payments have to continue at every 100 hour milestone and they have a CJO. If they are interviewing to add more cadets than that would not suprise me, but with no new hire classes in the horizon I can't see them giving CJOs out right now.

The cader program was just a scheme to pay a portion of new hire bonus money to CFIs while they were still getting hours under a CJO.

For existing cadets, the agreement requires payments to continue.

could you provide a breakdown of costs of the program? I’m not familiar with it at all.

They do get D2 flight benefits. Imagine being bumped off of a flight by a CFI who doesn't even work here.

not sure about PDT, but Envoy cadets get health, dental, travel, 401k, and “profit sharing”
I thought all three programs had the same benefits.
