ORD?

Call metering, switch to ground, and then don’t say anything. They know you’re there, you’re getting paid, sit back and wait. Don’t stop on the taxiway. If the alley is clogged keep going. A/A15/N2/N, and A/A6/R will get you to the runway a good portion of the time. It’s not hard, just a little chaotic. 9L/27R is actually in Wisconsin and it takes awhile to get into Illinois. Good luck!

Im not offended at anything. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is displeased with controllers that feel the faster and more aggressive they can act makes them a better controller. But it is your play land and you feel superior dealing with it so enjoy your awesome time in ord....

When I use to frequent ORD a lot, the worst was landing on 27L since It would spit us out "close" to our gate. There would be no time to contact operations after landing, so I would call them in the air and say "Acey XXX, on the ground, is our gate open?" That way I could take the north entrance if offered to us as soon as we exited the runway.
Then one day, some Dwight Schrute type working operations responded with, "I'm not showing you on the ground yet, please call back after your have landed for gate status"

It’s the second busiest airport in the country, everyone needs to be operating at a high level. I’ve never heard them chew someone out for asking for clarification, but they have very low tolerance for people not following instructions correctly. Don’t bother ground when metering told you to monitor. Don’t screw up a readback because you’re too cool to use a pen. Don’t stop on A/B because you can’t read the signs or because you didn’t have your chart up. ORD controllers are some of my favorite.
