Fun fact, this Monday, April 26th is "World Pilots' Day", let see if they do anything....I won't hold my breath.

How much more do you make than them?

And there is a good reason for that.

For the record I don't need or want an "appreciation day".

Yeah, it’s just hilarious to see someone get paid like five times what they do complain that pilots don’t get a once a year pizza party that costs the company like ten bucks a person.

It will happen sooner than later. Another pilot dropped off the Seniority list. Hope they start making more LCAs soon. This training department will be hurting soon as major hiring returns. Who do you think will go first? The LCAs are high on that list....

That of course requires planning and forward thinking....

We just ran a LCA class. Those guys are currently doing their right seat training.

where are people going?

I heard quite a few guys on the bottom of the seniority list left for their previous part 135 jobs when the pandemic started. I've been gone a lot on mil leave, but in my limited experience I flew with a CA who got hired by FEDEX, another who was leaving for another cargo operation, and a couple others who got OTS CJOs at B6 and AA, right as the pandemic started. Presumably they'll be gone the second hiring resumes. Apparently B6 was hiring FOs and CAs and NK was targeting FOs. We're already back to 11 day off lines for what looks to be most of the pilot group with lots of extensions, so I'd say it's safe to say we're already undermanned again.

It appears only 625ish people have DOHs before the pandemic started, so that means 100ish people went... somewhere. There are also quite a few names at the top who I know are no longer here.

Envoy is now hiring with 200+ people on furlough still. When are we (the understaffed regional) going to start?

Yet PDT spends money sending recruiters to Sun N Fun for a week when we are not even hiring and apparently have plenty of people in the “pool”. I’m not asking for a pizza party, maybe just an email that says “Hey thank you pilots”.

I bet if pilotDru or Flywitgilbert asked to be recognized the company would use them for the “face” of the pilot group on the company website.... oh wait....

Young Hogg has been placed in the airline that is very soon going to lose many, many pilots to the majors. Those new check airmen are ripe for picking. Covid was merely a very small impediment to hiring. The doors are about to be blown off with the retirements that cannot be denied. Get your apps in.
