No word on the CHQ intranet about this either. Typically BB is very quiet about things until the planes show up at the hangar. I'd expect some kind of new report to beat RAH to any announcements.

I heard this one the beginning of the week in CLT. I guess when USAir was going to merge with AA before they had to divest themselves of the wholly owneds to satisfy the justice department on the anti trust issue. I think this probably had more to do with AA owning eagle because then the merged company would have a lot of little markets captured with no competetion. United doesn't have any wholly owneds so the justice department won't care...besides they seem to have changed their tune with respect to the whole delta/nw thing. The captain was worried about us getting stapled to republics master list...but I'm at the bottom anyway and republic makes more..as long as it doesn't result in job loss I'm fine with it. Though I will be sad to see the benefits go.

We already park over there and its a joke. 15 and 17 are ok but E2 and E3 are too tight, something is going to get bent. Parking around the backside is even worse. Keep in mind of all the places we go sans LGA this is about the tightest we have to maneuver in. Word is that they (Airways) are moving us to the B and C gates anyway. The pax are having issues with the jetways being at 15 degree slopes and it is supposedly hard on the jetway itself being propped up that high. Hey look at it this way, the Piedmont pilots would finally get some sort of flow through. I'd see the 50 seats going away, the dashes would stay until we get through this mess. If/when Mesa falls apart this will be huge for everyone. I mean no ill will toward the mesa employees by that statement, I have friends there too. We are in the middle of contract talks and are working for a better contract, honestly what we have isn't bad its just a matter of getting them to follow it.

I could see Bedford looking at this if he gets some sort of rock solid agreement out of Airways for future lift.

I am out!

Word is we are going over to the C gates. Bedford is not interested in the 50 seaters and repeats this like a broken record. When Mesa folds there will be lots of flying for all of us...:D

Sweet Sassy Molassy! I sure as hell havn't heard anything like that, I have hear some stuff come out of the rumor mill about us merging (i.e. Piedmont w/ PSA) with someone, but nothing quite like that.

I wonder what would happen to the pilots here. If that would mean some growth for us i would be all over that, but more than likely we'd lose a great deal of the benefits we have as a wholly owned.

If it did happen, and I don't think it would...the pilots would have to get integrated on our seniority list and fall under our contract (or some form of it after negotiation). The one thing you can count on is that there would not be a seperate list or a seperate company operating like Skywest/ASA.

Is that your opinion or facts from somewhere?? i have heard the complete opposite through the grapevine...

No Worries!

I think the problem with the 900's being back there is the wheel base is longer than a 175. Our nose wheel is back almost under the galley so we can turn pretty tight. If we didn't sit up so high it would be easier at the E gates. Should be interesting either way.

We have a lot of junk in our current contract because the forefathers had to give it up to get scope and a single list. There will be no multiple lists in my opinion. The contract is pretty tight on that. It will be cluster intercourse no doubt if something like this happens. I am sure there would be seat protection though.
