Piedmont Ad irony

Anyone else see the irony in the Piedmont ad often on the right?
"Upgrade in 18 to 24 months." "Flow to American in 3 to 5 years."
Annnnnd they show a 62 year old pilot in the Dash. Hahaha.
I think you're sending the wrong message there Piedmont. :D

Are you saying that older folks can't join at age 60, upgrade at 62, then flow at 64 and 11 months to be at AA for one month?

Not that it's impossible, but I don't think that's the demo they are appealing to in the ad.

While everybody is entitle to form their own opinion, what's wrong with putting up a picture of an older gentelman? Unbelievable.

Because they aren't trying to sell viagra. They are trying to attract 20-somethings.

Really? In that case they should put up a 23 year old hot chick in that seat.

Right. That's why putting an old man in the seat isn't an effective advertisement.

This is a pointless thread. The truth is that there simply isn't many people in their 20's doing this anymore. It is time and cost prohibitive to them. Loans are not easy to come by anymore, like when I was given $100,000, no job or co-signer 10 years ago. For many, the ROI simply looks like it takes too long. When I was a CFI, it was quite a novelty to have a homegrown student...I had 2 in 6 years of teaching almost 80 students. Only 1 of the 2 was interested in the airlines. Not good...
