These ads are so misleading/speculatative. If Pdt was so confident about their ads I wish some FFD carriers like them would give a guarantee on signing. Like you will flow to American in 5 years or we owe you $100,000. If they claim it in their ads why not put their money where their mouth is?

You want pathetic? There's a person I know of who received one. He's a current employee, but a retired pilot. Reason for no longer flying? He's 66 years old.

Haha.

Even with everyones best intentions the flow timeline or upgrade is always subject to change. Unless contractually it is stated "5 years etc..." there is no way to guarantee when you will actually be at the mainline. In 1991 at Eagle we were all told in class that upgrades were within 1 year. It never happened. A healthy buffer is always a good idea. Better yet, pick a place where you will be happy in the long run and the flow when it comes will be the icing on the cake!

It might seem stupid to you, but I believe the reason for this was to have some incentive for new hires to bid the prop over the jet. I believe the old Airways contract had something similar with the E190 and Airbus.

How do you bid jet when there is no jet on property for at least another 6 months
