I see they didn't put a specific time on the flow like on the other ads. cute ad though. I genuinely hope the flow works as advertised

Yes, however the actually upgrade time is going to be much lower then 18 months. It's below that now.

Did this really need its own thread?

basesjuiced 08-31-2015 04:41 PM

At many regional airlines there's 1-2 year FO's going Hmmmmmmm:eek:

Is it worse than SkyWest sending letters to pilots at other regionals and getting a free SkyWest lanyard???

Nah. They are coming over...some from places you wouldn't expect. If they have the 1000 121 it is going to be a great opportunity for them in the coming year. I look forward to working with them.

Braniff DC8 08-31-2015 06:51 PM

And then there's the pay. Jet F/O first year is less than the Dash which is not only odd, it's ****!

All the regionals now have trouble getting people and yet they keep up with these silly ads. I remember back in the early 90's when the ads said pay 10,000$ and come work for us!

The regionals now are getting what they deserve, lots less interested in flying for false promises. Wasn't PSA promised AA slots? And have you heard what it's like flying for Parker, no thanks.

Two Kings 08-31-2015 07:27 PM

These ads are so misleading/speculatative. If Pdt was so confident about their ads I wish some FFD carriers like them would give a guarantee on signing. Like you will flow to American in 5 years or we owe you $100,000. If they claim it in their ads why not put their money where their mouth is?

You want pathetic? There's a person I know of who received one. He's a current employee, but a retired pilot. Reason for no longer flying? He's 66 years old.

Haha.

CaptYoda 08-31-2015 07:40 PM

Even with everyones best intentions the flow timeline or upgrade is always subject to change. Unless contractually it is stated "5 years etc..." there is no way to guarantee when you will actually be at the mainline. In 1991 at Eagle we were all told in class that upgrades were within 1 year. It never happened. A healthy buffer is always a good idea. Better yet, pick a place where you will be happy in the long run and the flow when it comes will be the icing on the cake!

It might seem stupid to you, but I believe the reason for this was to have some incentive for new hires to bid the prop over the jet. I believe the old Airways contract had something similar with the E190 and Airbus.

buddies8 09-01-2015 01:41 PM

How do you bid jet when there is no jet on property for at least another 6 months

Do you have guys in training now. Instructors that have already finished training? If so I am misinformed. If not you are not getting jets on property in one month.

Yes. Good friend of mine is going through Dash upgrade now and the company briefed them on it and answered questions. They already have a date planned for revenue service starting in February with first jet arriving in October for training and proving runs. MDT will do required MX for the first few.

Looking for PDT MEI to trade multi instruction for referral bonus.....

Theaveragejoker 09-01-2015 05:07 PM

Dead foot dead engine. I take cash and checks.

All kidding aside, we aren't allowed any outside commercial flying and the company includes dual given in that definition even though the FAA doesn't. I think an hour of engine fails and an hour of instrument and you'll be in good shape, unless you're really out of practice.

Theaveragejoker 09-01-2015 05:09 PM

What part of Texas? I still know a few MEI names in Houston.
