UPDATE:
My lawyer has submitted my amendment to my past medical applications to the FAA. He is confident that no punitive action will be taken against me regarding certificates. It was quite the process, my entire army medical records, VA records, and any private records were submitted. This totaled around 250 pages worth of documentation (much of it fluff).
Now I am in the process of making appointments with the required specialists to apply for a SI medical certificate utilizing the SSRI protocol. This will be expensive. The “COG Screen” will be around 2K and the psychiatry appointment will be the same. After this I will see a HIMS AME and that will likely be expensive too. In the end it will be worth the money to hopefully have a clean slate. Nothing is guaranteed of course but I have to try. I am hopeful that I am back at work by this winter. I will update when I find out more.

I don't work for a major, I'm a cargo guy. When I started this process I first consulted an attorney and not my union. In hindsight, I could have consulted my union and had a lot of this payed for by the company, but I wasn't sure how much trouble this would cause. Therefore, I went the lawyer route and have payed out of pocket and will continue to do so throughout this process. Hopefully this experience and others will help others in the future. What I mean is that your union can help get these things accomplished with their own team. When you don't really know the extent of your troubles (as I did because I lied on my medical all those years), I was quite frankly fearful to involve the company in any way until I had some idea as to what my options/consequence would be. I suppose I could ask my union if they would cover these expenses now, and maybe I will. For now I am still employed (not flying) and working with the FAA through the process.
