I disagree with the myth about treadmills...modern treadmills have shock absorbing that reduces the impact. Plus there are no terrain deviations to throw added stress from different angles on your joints. I still prefer actually running, especially if there is scenery.

The only thing that surprised me was the part about swimming and losing weight.
