Exclamation Head Colds

I have a head cold and could not clear my ears during decents the other day. It was very painful and I am not looking forward to flying again in this condition.

I have 2 days until my next day of flying. What do you guys suggest I take to help clear my ears up of this head cold?

Thanks for any help!

Drink lots of fluids

I think Tylenol sinus works well.....non-drowsy of course.

zicam, vitamin C and LOTS of fluids. Do that and just take a day or two and do nothing. Thats all you can do and it should help but if it doesnt dont be afraid to say hey cant fly. The above is what I do and it works most of the time. Good luck and get well soon!

Thanks guys, so far I have tried a few of your suggestions. I got called in today for a flight so I will have to see how it goes. The Decent will be the tell factor. Hopefully I will be able to clear my ears on the way down today.

Any other suggestions please post as I am sure this wont be my last head cold in my life.

A lot of cold medications are not approved for flight.

If you are an AOPA member they have a nice listing of approved meds on their site. AOPA Online: AOPA's medication database searchable by trade or generic drug name
