Default Hernia

I'm trying to get a first class medical, just wondering if anyone knows if I will run into any problems with a hernia.

Assuming it has been repaired and you are recovered from the surgery, I doubt you would have any problems. If you still have issues with it, you should probably get professional advice before you talk to an AME.

As long as you have no pain and have the ability to push it back in, you should be ok. Get it fixed when you can.

Hiatal Hernia? Inguinal Hernia?

which one do you have(there's a few of them)? As long as its fixed you'll be fine.....a friend of mine has the inguinal hernia and has a first.

Actually, the entire question is a bit vague. OP could literally be asking if the act of getting the Class 1 will give him a hernia. Now I've heard of tough medicals ...

Seriously, there's a medical section on the AOPA forum that's the perfect venue for this issue, and it allows questions from unregistered posters. You do have to be a member, though. AOPA Online: Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association
