Height and weight (hiring question)

Okay. . . this may seem as a silly question, but here goes.

I'm only 5'5" and maybe 125lbs, wet.

Will my height and weight keep me from landing a spot with an airline?

Silly question, but I had to ask. I'll eat more, I promise.

I gues not! Don't worry. I think the airlines just don't want people that are too heavy compared to their size. If you have any problems because of your weight, like if you were very weak or something, that would maybe be a problem. But your case shouldn't be a big deal...:)

Alright, good deal. I'm a pretty athletic person (soccer and cross country running experience, etc), but with average upper body strength. I'm on a training regiment now to increase the strength above my waist, so it all could change. . . but I just had to ask. lol

I have a few friends of this stature or smaller who are flying. One is doing just fine at the controls of a C-130.

Rock on, good deal then. :) My mind has been settled.

surreal your dimensions are fine. It's your personality and skills that count in this profession. Heck, they even let 6 foot 7 professional football players into the cockpit, like former Bills tackle Justin Cross.

Your stature isn't so small. There's an FO at one of the regionals who is a midget. He probably had to endure a lot of crap, but he succeeded. Most in his situation might have given up or never even tried. When I first heard this, I was glad that someones physical trait didnt get in the way of a dream.

Don't let your size get in the way of flying, especially since it shouldn't hold you back physically at all.

If you want to gain some mass take this stuff... http://www.nextag.com/isopure-protei...er/search-html

Unlike all the other 10-15g of protein drinks this bad boy has 50g each. Eat like normal and drink one or two a day and stay active. My buddy put on 25lbs of muscle mass in two months doing that lol.

I saw that guy at Dulles a few months back - I think he works for MESA. I couldn't believe it. Happy for him...
