Hey Guys!

I sent for the court documents and it turns out that all of my charges were eventually dropped due to "court supervision".

The only guilty conviction I have on my record is a seatbelt violation in 2000.

So does this change any thing? I mean I can honestly say that I've never been convicted of a DUI. I know the medical form says to report any ARRESTS.

Can I simply check Yes on the Arrested for DUI box and write in the explanations box that the charges were dropped?

Sky, you endorse the Student Pilot Certificate, which is usually the same as the medical, but not always.

You do not have to have a medical to get a Sport Pilot certificate as long as you have not been denied a medical.

This guy may be better off getting a Third Class medical now and applying for a second or first later after he has shown a positive track record with a Third Class medical. It shows some precedence, which will be needed once any waivers need to be applied for. Thoughts?

You probably could, however, be prepared to for further investigation into the matter. I will say that since it has been 9-10 years since the infraction occured, you may just pass the 10 yr background check and your medical issued.

Hope that happens for you!

It really should not be a problem if you are getting a pvt. license. If your dream is to become a professional pilot, God help you, then it might pose a problem down the road.
Keep in mind, that if you "disclose" it once on a form , you will have to forever, so think about the questions carefully before you answer.
