Default vision problem

I seem to have a problem with lights when viewd threw plexy glass such as an aircraft windshield. when viewing any bright light threw a windshield i see a ghost image next to the light.for instance on landing i see an aditionl row of lights next to each row of landing lihgts. the second row of lights is faint but distracting. although i dont have a problem passing my first class medical. it is still bothersome. has anyone herd of thisI have gone to the doctors and they say my eyes are good and that I’m seeing the error in the Plexiglas itself. It doesn’t happen through car windshields or when I am looking at the lights without any glass.

It you're ALPA, contact aeromedical. It's confidential and they've seen just about everything out there. Best of luck

I imagine the mods might delete this since I'm referring you to another forum but Dr. Forred seems to be an incredibly knowledgeable AME and is quick to respond to any questions. Not sure he'll have the answer to your question but it's worth a shot. Ask A Flight Surgeon - Jetcareers

This is very common, depending on aircraft type, vision quality, etc. You're seeing reflections in the various panes of the windows of the windshield.
You don't see this on cars because the whole windshield is very thin and there aren't many panes. As I understand it, just about everyone sees it to varying degrees when looking through those windshields.

*Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

Its a windscreen issue, not a medical issue.

I guess I'll have to try to pay attention to this next time I fly. For all I know, I see it too but just haven't really paid any attention to it.

I see it too. Mostly when we are on the ground and i'm looking at the taxi lights or something. It will give me a headache if i pay too much attention to it.
It's not your vision. It's the airplane.

Go to your regular eye doctor and have him check you for abnormal isophoria or exophoria. If it is iso or exo, simple eye exercises will fix it since it is a muscle issue. If the doc says you are normal, then you know it is just the windshield and not your eyes. FYI - I am not a medical professional.
