Listen guys and gals...the AME is not your friend. You play "I`l bet my job" every time you take an oral and a check ride. Don`t play that game with the doctors. Ask around and fine the easy ones. If you are sick, or need a physical go to a doctor that doesn`t hold your job in his hands.

Exactly your AME should only be for your FAA physical and your family doc should be for everything else. Think of the AME as your wife because you are obligated to go there and the family doc as your mistress to get what it is you really want. May they never meet!

Oh, you mean the nurse practitioners for when you need something quick and easy? The AME probably shouldn't hear about that either.

Default EKG? Waste of money?

Does anyone know when the EKG is required for the Class 1? If not, why is the Class one offered w/EGK or wo/EKG? I have paid the extra $30 for one the last 2 times, but now I'm wondering if it was a waste of time and money.
Thanks!

My AME's office told me that they (FAA) require one EKG a year when you're over 40.

BTW, does anyone know of a good "20-minute" AME in the Oklahoma City area?

Thanks P2,
One a year sounds great to me. BTW, if anyone needs a "20-minute" AME in area code 334 let me know.
