Cost of your FAA medical?
 

What do you pay for a first class medical?

Mine went from $85 to $185 in six months! :( I'm curious what others pay.

I just ran into the same issue with my AME, he still has the same magazines from 1999, so that can't be the reason for the price increase. I put together a quick poll here:

Paid $98 without EKG for first class. Ft. McClellan Anniston, AL.

Why aren't aviation medical exams covered under health insurance. I asked several AME's offices and they laughed at me. Seems like it's a cash cow that needs to be stopped. We've had to much money taken from us for this job, with no return, already!

$80 without EKG, $110 with. Good guy.

First class medical - $35

No joke.

1st Class, with EKG, $190.:mad:

It would be helpful if you put your location with the response.

That's impressive! I thought I was getting a good deal at $55 (no EKG) in the STL area

Hopefully, they don't give you the bill DURING the EKG:)
