You will need a LOA (letter of Authorization) before you go to the FSDO.

I too have a SODA (got it in 2000) and it has never effected my career. Don't let anyone discourage you. Like a previous poster said.... If you can see the lights at a stop light you are going to be just fine. Sorry no Military though. I tried and tried
