I plan to get a Flu Shot this season, but wanted to ask if anyone has gotten a pneumonia shot ? My internet research shows it is probably not a bad idea. My flying takes me to Latin America / third world often.

I always get it. If I were to get my wife sick, I'd never hear the end of that item, and the list is quite long now.

I believe you only need one pneumonia shot, maybe two depending on circumstances (diabetes, cancer, hiv, removal of spleen, etc)

Get both.

If you fly (with) pax, just think about the "healthy" 1000's cramped in a confined area for hours with "recirculated" air

My travel doc never recommended the pneumonia shot and she's pretty thorough. We go to SA, Africa, too. Certainly, Hep A&B, Thyphoid, Yellow Fever, meningococcal are needed.

yes pneumonia shot every 3 to 5 years. And get the new shingles shot too!
