Generaly- Are regional airline issued health care benefits comparibly cheaper than holding on to your own?

"Legacy" XJT--I pay about $220 a month for BCBS 90% EPO for myself and two kids. Insurance is great. My "opposite sex domestic partner," who is ineligible for my insurance, pays COBRA for her former employer's health insurance (Kaiser) and pays around $330/mo just for her.

In most cases cheaper yes, but some of the bottom feeders may have plans that are so bad that if you have kids or someone with a pre-existing condition you might be better off buying a good plan as opposed to getting destroyed by co-pays and caps.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. To further help the comparison- I am single, healthy and paying just under 100/month with no copay and average deductible.

My insurance for my son and I would be 600 a month, ridiculous when I'm covered in my girlfriends insurance for less than half of that including my son. Not cool when insurance is almost half your check
