Default Chantix

I have been a continual dipper since teen baseball days. Obviously now that I'm older I seem to always have a dip in and just had a good friend who was about the same as I was quit. He told me he used Chantix and winged himself off of it and no longer wants a dip after a few months. Luck has it, the FAA has said no dice to pilots using Chantix. Especially one who does it in the 121 world. Do any of you guys have any recommendations on other options that are FAA approved?

Thanks!

Get some pharmacy brand nicotine lozenges and mint gum. Chew the gum up and put it in your lip like a chaw. Then suck on a nicotine lozenge. Start splitting the lozenges in halves and quarters until you don't need them anymore. Then you're just addicted to mint gum...worked for me.

I quit chewing by using a product called Bacc Off. It's a product that's just mint and tea leaves, so you can chew it like dip, but without the bad stuff. Check out www.dipstop.com

For me the toughest part of quitting after the nicotine cravings went away was breaking the habit of chewing. The Bacc Off helped me satisfy that craving while I broke the nicotine habit. After about 2 months of using that product I found myself using it less and less. Eventually I found I could go a day without, then two days, and so on. 4 years later and I haven't had a dip since.

Good luck quitting, it takes a lot of determination and perseverance, but it's one of the best things you can do for yourself.
