Atlanta AME?
Just wondering who the best (got your back) AME is in ATL. I used Vereen forever, and I'm not displeased with my new guy-but I'm looking for options (He seems OK, but doesn't really seem like he would go out of his way to help you out.) I would love to find someone who knows the system as well as Vereen did. (I saw him personally call people in OKC to fix their troubles-5 min phone call vs. months of paperwork and tests. Saw it a few times. He was awesome!)

Yes Dr.Vereen was forced into retirement due to health reasons, I do not know the status of his health but hopefully he is doing well and enjoying his retirement.
Vereens nurse, Ashley, now works for AME Don Walker in peachtree city. Ashley is an ace in the hole with specials.
Have used CR Harper also, very good

If you're on the northwest side, Ted Carter - (404) 213-5959 - and Baheeg Shadeed - (770) 438-9191 - are both outstanding. Carter is off Paces Ferry in Vinings and Shadeed works out of a hospital on South Cobb Dr.
I can also second Harper, as I used him in the past, but it's a long drive for me. Seems like I heard his son was running the practice now.

I was a Dr. Vereen fan as well for many many years. I heard that he had to retire due to cancer. I hope he is well. If you have any special issues then you need a guy like him to make it happen. Lots of good AME's out there but when you have to deal with OKC not everyone is familiar with what they need right away.

Al Kozarsky is also outstanding. He flies an MU-2 out of Cartersville and actually has an office at the airport where he can see you (including on the weekend with prior coordination) or at his office downtown during the week. He's an eye surgeon...has done LASIK on most of the professional baseball players in the MLB who had the surgery after making the big leagues. He is also the designated FAA medical POC for eye issues (meaning when there is an issue and something gets referred to OKC, if it is eye related they will consult him on it). As a result, he has great/close connections with the regional FAA guy as well as in OKC and can easily pick up the phone and resolve many issues/get stuff pre-cleared before it is ever submitted via the computer system.
