Default How’s the Job?

For any current PSA pilots - how is it working for PSA?

I really can't complain. I am getting a lot more money that what was in the contract when I applied. I have great schedule flexibility and have off any days that I want. Upgrade is quick. Time on reserve is well under a year in all bases. I will flow in less than 6 years unless something terrible happens in the industry.

The worst part of PSA is the reserve work rules, which are changing. Since the new management people came in a few months ago, several new changes have been made and are being implemented. The new "bucket system" was explained to me by people in management and it will be really nice. Also the ability to request trips when on reserve, and to be able to bid last out when senior and not fly at all that month will be nice for those that want it.

APC is full of very negative "keyboard warriors", so take what you read on here with a grain of salt.

Thanks. Why did you choose PSA initially?

My father’s family name being Pirrip, and my Christian name Philip, my infant tongue could make of both names nothing longer or more explicit than Pip.

We should have a page of just literary quotes. All of those Literature classes in college are finally paying off : )

Curious as to what the new reserve rulse are? And what this bucket system is? I haven't been on in a few weeks and probably missed it somewhere if someone can shoot me a link or explain it.

I think it's more side to side with a few upside downs thrown in.

Save yourself the headache and try to get on with Endeavor. The contract sucks here. They need some major improvements. There are a lot of issues in the PSA contract that need attention.

-50% deadhead pay.
-no pay until wheels are moving (most airlines you get paid when the door closes)
-HOT reserve (terrible, you have to sit in your uniform all day at the airport in case they need you)
-no trip or duty rigs and crappy 3.5 min day
-Other regionals offer a lot more pay to pick up extra flying. PSA is only 125%. You also have to submit a pay claim on certain dates or you dont get the extra pay. Really?
-Worst of all is the horrible trips that pay 12-15 hours for a 4 day. Other airlines you could get more like 20-25 hours on a 4 day trip. This means less days off and less pay.
