Default Does PSA require TSO Approved Headsets

I really like the Quiet Technology Halo design, but I don't know if it'd be allowed.

Thanks

I have the telex ANR 850. Good headset and tso compliant. I have never seen anyone make a fuss about a headset being compliant. I even know of some check airman that use non- tso'd headsets. If someone gives ya sh!t about, just pull out the ships headset and use it until the a $$hole is gone, then use your own. Again, I have never seen anyone make a stink about it.

This is what I was curious about. Thank you. I just didn't know if it was specifically disallowed per the company regs.

Per the FOM yes, it needs to be TSO.

FWIW I used to Halo for about a year. I really enjoyed it. But, after a year I noticed I was turning the volume up more and more. Also the maintenance of having to change the earbuds and tubes was frustrating as the guy who runs that place is tough to get a hold of from time to time.

All in all its great. Super light. But I thought I noticed my hearing failing or the headset failing after about a year. Went back to my A20. I would be happy either way I think.

NEVER had anyone say a word about the headset to me.

If you buy one I suggest trimming the tubes a bit (an inch or so), otherwise you end up with these GIANT loops bouncing all the time next to your head, your coworkers will laugh and you will too.

1) IF you succeed in buying one (and that's a big if)
2) and IF the headset police object (bigger if)
3) you can easily resell it for full price, see #1

Thanks, I realized the website says in very small print they are out of stock anyway

I’ve used one in GA for about 500hrs. Works great and I like the fact I can wear sunglasses and a hat. I didn’t have much trouble getting one, even sent it in for warranty repair. One speaker was intermittent, and I could press on the speaker and it would work again. I figured he would fix it and send it back. Ended up getting a brand new headset in the mail. Quick turnaround too. Nothing but great service. Doesn’t work well in loud cockpits though.
