Default And training wait time+ junior bases

Sorry, I knows tons of thread on PSA lately. Please put up with me, apps are really about to go out.

What class date could I possibly get at this point? And what bases can I expect coming out of class (and in general if somebody could kind of put them bases all in order of how senior they are that would be great)

What is the training footprint looking like now?

And last, how long will I be on reserve these days?

Thanks!!

I’m not much help on the first few questions as I’m not in the training department. I haven’t heard of any hiccups lately though.

But to touch on reserve... I break down my numbers in another thread and it’s too much to repost but my estimate is 16-22 months of reserve for anyone hired today.

I can not stress enough how important it is to read the other threads on here and to go back a minimum of 20 pages on each one. In my opinion, it’s just as important as studying the POH, FOM, and limitations in training. Not just for PSA, but any airline you might be interested in. Anyone looking to get started in this career owes it to themselves to research as much as you can before you start class so you at least have an idea of what to expect. There’s a good chance you’re going to be spending a minimum of 5 years no matter where you go.

Lately, all bases have been available coming out of class.

Generally speaking

Most senior - CLT

middling - DCA/TYS

lower - CVG/DAY

Currently low but new and still evolving - PHL/ORF. PHL looking like it might join DCA/TYS and ORF looking like it will dethrone DAY for most junior.

I think it’s around 5-6 weeks in Dayton for ground school. Then 5 sims in CVG followed by 5 sims in CLT plus QMV, then LOFT, then QLOE.

Based on the February data, the most junior person to hold Philly has been on property 4-5 months. So essentially you should be able to hold It by the end of training. But our awards are 4 months out so you may spend a few months in DAY initially.
