Talk about a huge middle finger to the pilot group and future ones to come, before leaving office. What a joke. He probably laughed his ass off typing it up.

That’s what I’ve heard as well. The concept of the automatic system ain’t bad, but the language as it stands is pretty crappy.

Literally the only change with this 'electronic system' is that assignments can now go through the iPad. But this idea of 3 day trips being picked up by people in the 4 day bucket (as an example), isn't going to happen.
Y'all should read the LOA instead of assuming the union actually helped improve anything...

It doesn't really need to be overridden. The electronic assignment is only supposed to consider those reserves eligible through the same criteria as scheduling does now.

I read it and I know how it’s supposed to work, but scheduling is absolutely not adhering to it. A CA posted on BSL that after the LOA came out, he had 8 different FOs from different bases during a 4 day. There’s no way that could happen if scheduling was following the rules unless every FO in every base had only one day of reserve. If the automated system works as it should, with no way of being overridden, then it will be something of an improvement over whatever the hell scheduling does.
With some exceptions, scheduling is following the rules set forth for them by the company and the union. The problem arises in that what the union thought would be good for reservists, mostly wasn't.
