PSA/PDT merger...
Haven't heard much about this in a while from the PSA side. Anyone have anything to offer ie: good, bad, he said, she said?

PSA would fight this as much as possible. Their #1 pilot would be #20 on our list. PDT has too many old people who have been here way to long.

yea i would love to see one of those mdt pdt cpts try the dash chop n drop into phl in a rj, he would be all "hrmmmm, might not get down in time"

Different planes, different bases, different pay, just a whole different animal.... THE only link is we are both wholly owns.... I would have a lot more FO's below me and have a better QOL in general.

Also I know PDT's training is categorized as an AQP program, but I'm not sure if PSA's is as well. Not a big thing, (both get the job done), but with Fed-red tape, who knows how you could operate the DH8 side as AQP and the CRJ as a normal training program without the FAA wanting it standardized.

This might sounds crazy... but hell.. lets support a merge and turn the tables a bit instead of putting pilot jobs on the line lets put management positions on the line. Maybe force some of the people in SBY to attempt to do something. GO right to PHX with it 1 new management 1 new training program gotta cost less than 2

I really hate these misleading titles. Of course, I've come to expect that if someone states "A/B merger" in their title, it's only speculation.

I think something's up. From what I've heard, contract negotiations at PSA has gone much better than here at PDT. Our CEO is on the brink of retirement and our fleet should have been taken out to the pasture and shot years ago. I think something is on the burner. I have a feeling that once PSA signs their contract, we might here somethng. If we do merge, I think it will be under the PSA contract because it is much cheaper with worse work rules than ours. I think the merger would be a good thing. I know PSA guys would get slammed with senority issues and some are afraid to have a turboprop that close to them, but if PHX opens up and PDT/PSA goes out there then it's a win win for everyone. With the three hub bases, commuting would be a lot easier, especially if you live on the west coast. Hopefully someday we can get rid of the contract carriers, have one wholly owned do all the express flying then life might get better for everyone. Just my opinion.
