As far as jumpseat wars goes. On this board we have maybe a dozen Envoy guys posting. That's less than 1% of our pilot force. Even tho I didn't agree with PSA or PDT votes, I will not deny the jumpseat to one of their pilots. The vast majority of the guys I know, Envoy, operate the same way. I believe a lot of things will change in the next two years. My suggestion, listen and learn over the next several years and don't hit send.

Ding ding ding ding! Exactly right. Although "success or failure" must be qualified as to for whom. I think it's probably working out exactly how Delta intended it to.

But to your original post, troll or not. As you'll soon find out, 2 years is an eternity in this industry. By than the regional landscape will certainly look vastly different. Some may consolidate, some may vanish, some may be scooped up/stapled/B-scaled with their mainline partners. I think most of the 60 seat or less fleets will be gone or dwindling. Long story short, spending time on the drama boards this far out trying to divine the future of this or that carrier is a colossal waste of your time. Go watch Mythbusters and drink a beer. You'll have 40 years of airline pilot complaining. Why subject yourself to two more! Just keep your nose clean (no arrests or DUIs) and knock out those hours! Get your Commercial Multi ASAP and apply at Cape Air, Era, Airnet, Iron Air, or any host of places that are hiring guys below ATP mins. And if you're just now starting your private, no way in he77 will you be applying to regionals in two years. 750 hrs/year is more than many of us fly! Unless you have a trust fund, a Seminole, and live in Arizona, it's not likely. That said, best of luck to you and don't let the doomsdayers get you down! (Seriously though, get off the APC crack pipe for now).

I can assure you this isn't the case. Delta has a long term plan for Endeavor and the EtD program and as such, we must wait much longer to determine its success or failure.

You're drinking the kool-aid and are drunk. The EtD is all smoke and mirrors. It's a hopeless and worthless program created to dupe some poor little CFI who doesn't know what's going on in the 121 Regional world. Delta couldn't care less about anyone hired in the program. It's all a show and to think otherwise is foolish and naive. Just as you say...we aren't privy to the information but going off of common sense I think you're wrong.

PSA and Endeavor

^^^^Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but meant to quote Vilcas from above.

These guys have been promised jobs under the Delta approved interview process, there is no reason for Delta not to take them.

Yes there is. Delta doesn't need them.

(Figured it out!)

Alaska I think if anything it was intended to dupe us poor 9E pilots into thinking that DAL wanted us operating more airplanes. By their albeit misguided thinking, I think they thought it would be a morale booster for the pilots on property.

Delta needs the type of people hired through the EtD. These candidates fit the Delta standard for a pilot. Why would Delta discard a resource they have already paid for. Most managers don't make a habit of paying for something they don't intend to use unless by doing so they gain in some other way. Despite what some Endeavor pilots think Delta is not making moves to try and aggravate the pilots at Endeavor.

I think duping the pilot group was a part of the plan as well but I think most of your group is smarter than that...you've all been there long enough to know better than to fall for that. Plus it wasn't exactly a big win for the current pilots. It may have boosted a couple of guys' moral but that excitement faded quickly I'm sure. Delta is ruthless and they have proven that over and over again.

On the contrary. I think Delta is half-heartledly trying to boost moral by announcing programs to deceive the current pilot group. Most aren't falling for it. Some are. 9E isn't the only regional airline doing the "Delta" interview. Ask the hiring managers who do the "Delta" interview and see what they have to say about it. Delta doesn't need the EtD program. If Delta needed a legit program they would have put a lot more effort into it and would have made it more effective and efficient. It was a ploy and a failure. How much money do you think Delta has put into this EtD? it can't be much...not enough to motivate Delta to really care about it.

I'm not sure they were trying to fool a CFI. They made it darn near impossable for anyone to pass their requirements. I think they were trying to dupe current Endeavor Pilots to make it look like they were serious about hiring just to slow attrition. I don't believe they ever intended on keeping any 200's as is evident by them only keeping one 200 sim as well as other things they've done, or more importantly haven't done
