Flight Time Q
So I was doing my flight time grid for my Eagle interview next week. I realize that my time on the grid is different from the time in my logbook. Its about a50hr difference. So then I added my single and multi time together and its off by the same amount of time too. IMO thats a big difference. However, someone once told me that its common for the two times added together to be different by 10%. In my case it is off by about 4-5%. Does anyone have any input if you think this is going to be a problem?

mine was slightly off for xjt, make it work!, Just make sure they both add up to the same thing ie multi plus single should = total on both the grid and in your logbook., good luck

Were you by chance counting sim time as flight time?

When I was doing my application my times were off. I went through every line of my log book and re-totaled every page. In the end everything was correct and totaled properly. It takes some time, but it is worth it.
How much do you want that job? |

There's only one way to fix it, and it takes a long time...Go through every entry, and re-total every single page...no better feeling than a perfectly balanced logbook, though! Good luck!

I just did that and I cut my difference down to 35hrs. Its about 8yrs worth of entries. |

PS Didn't you just start at CommutAir or something like that? |
My SE + ME = >600 hours less than TT...
But then again, I did fly helicopters for a few years ;) |

Do you mean that your SE time + ME time is 50 hours different than your total time? If so, thats a BIG discrepancy and you should definitely fix it before an interview. That is definitely something they look for when going over your log books and will definitely raise a big, red flag. Don't want to be let go immediately before even interviewing because of "log book issues", right (like a girl that interviewed the same day I did at XJT)?
PS Didn't you just start at CommutAir or something like that? I started Commutair in Sept. They ended up moving all their flying out to CLE. I'll have to continue to commute. My hope was not have to commute. They had BOS base. Just looking to make my QOL a little better. Thats all. |
Thought I'd let everyone know that I ended up total my logbooks from day one. I did it twice to get an accurate account of my flight time. Was not an easy task at all. I finally got an accurate total and the job offer. Got to wait for my med and background to pass but, should be starting soon. So thanks for everyone's input. Eagle should be good.
